Hi, my name is Kay! I'm a 22 year-old sports photographer based in both State College and Bucks County. I'm a senior at Pennsylvania State University pursuing a major in Professional Photography with a minor in Digital Media Trends and Analytics, and a certificate in Digital Arts. 

My journey in photography began during my junior year of high school when I enrolled at the University of the Arts Saturday School, where I was given the opportunity to learn digital photography which prepared me for future studies.

 

Since then, I've had the privilege of being among the first interns for the Photography & Videography Internship position at All-Star Sports Academy. This summer internship allowed me to work in a professional sports environment, where I honed my skills in capturing dynamic moments while creating visually engaging content. At All-Star I collaborated closely with the marketing team to produce high-quality photos and videos that highlighted the intensity and excitement of the events including academic prospect camps, showcases, tournaments, and signing days. This experience not only enhanced my technical abilities in photography but learned more about the aspects of videography. In addition to my internship, I've worked as a photographer for Penn State's COMM Radio, where I covered a wide range of collegiate sports, furthering my passion for sports media. Through this organization I've deepened my understanding of how visual media can connect with audiences and tell powerful stories. I have recently have been given the role as Marketing Coordinator for the 8th Annual Penn State's Sports Business Conference. In this position, I develop social media campaigns leading up to and during the event, design graphics, promotional materials, and event flyers using editing software. I also conduct research, plan, and execute marketing strategies to increase awareness and drive engagement. Outside of my campus involvement, I also manage my own photography business through graduate commissioned photoshoots.

 

I'm dedicated to continuous learning and strive to push the boundaries of my craft by exploring new techniques and technologies in digital media. My approach to photography is rooted in capturing authentic moments that reflect the energy and emotion of the subjects I photograph. My goal is to create compelling visual narratives that resonate with viewers and celebrate the stories behind each image.
